3rd Thursday Lecture | Erskine Caldwell

JOIN NCHC as we take our August 3rd Thurs Program on the road to beautiful MORELAND, GA at the Moreland Heritage Museum and the Birthplace and Museum, the Little Manse of Coweta author Erskine Caldwell!

LOCATION: Moreland Heritage Museum
7 Mainstreet Moreland, Ga

Local historian, Winston Skinner and Museum Director, Carol Chancey, will be our guides into the historic world of Moreland, Ga which includes authors Lewis Grizzard and Erskine Caldwell. There will be a special focus on Caldwell and his novella, In Search of Bisco, published in ’66.

We look forward to visiting Moreland and hope you’ll come on down too!

Program starts at 6 with refreshments and opening remarks. Chancey and Skinner presentation, followed by tour of the Caldwell’s Little Manse.

Passport to Coweta

It’s Summertime which mean it’s time to grab your Passport to Coweta!!! Start your in-person journey at the McRitchie-Hollis Museum where you can pick up a passport booklet for a $5 donation (active Newnan-Coweta History Center members receive a free booklet). Visit each location listed to receive a stamp in your passport or snap a pic at the location to show that you’ve made it. Adventurers that complete the passport by the end of the summer can exchange their stamps and photos at the McRitchie-Hollis Museum for a congratulatory prize!
